The Court of Appeal allowed the appeal of the Junior Police Officers Association for the application for an interim injunction yesterday (October 22) prohibiting the electoral officer from revealing the electoral register to the public and candidates, including the name and address of the voter, until the hearing of the review is completed.
HKJA respects the court’s order, however, many “species” and suspicious electors have been revealed by the media through the search of the register in the past. HKJA is concerned that the temporary injunction may result in the media not being able to monitor, and at the end affecting the fairness and transparency of the election.
